School Board Candidate Tina Descovich

Short Biography:  Tina Descovich was elected to the Brevard County School Board in 2016 and is a strong advocate for students, parents, and teachers in our community. She has volunteered over 2,000 hours in Brevard Public Schools. Tina currently serves on the board of The Children’s Hunger Project & AMI Kids (serving youth with troubled pasts).  She is the past president of Sally’s Friends (a non-profit addiction recovery home for mothers), the past president of the Indialantic Parent Teacher Organization, and she serves as the youth Sunday School teacher at her church. She also volunteers with Junior Achievement of the Space Coast and Brevard Schools Foundation.

Tina is an experienced professional with over two decades of business experience and a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication. In her career she has hired and managed large teams, held profit and loss responsibility, and served on the executive staff for the United States Army Commanding General of the Combined Arms Support Command and Fort Lee.  For five years Tina served on the proposal team at Northrop Grumman Corporation, which developed multi-billion dollar proposals.  Following that, at the Melbourne Air & Space Show, Tina put her leadership and communication skills to work by recruiting, training, and coordinating over 650 volunteers, which helped build stronger relations between our military and our community.

Tina and her husband, Derek, have five children, of which one is currently attending Brevard Public Schools. They are a BPS family with 3 Melbourne Bulldog graduates and 2 Satellite Scorpion graduates! Tina attended DeLaura Middle School and Satellite High School. She looks forward to continued service on the Brevard School Board, building on the accomplishments and successes she and the community have achieved thus far.
