Memories in the Making

People experiencing dementia are often able to paint their thoughts, emotions and memories in a manner that is expressive and beautiful. Art becomes their voice. Through painting, people are often able to reach outside of their dementia and paint a picture that reconnects them with a past memory.

Our Memories in the Making® program is free and is a painting or drawing class specifically designed for people newly diagnosed in the early to middle stages. Both of our Altamonte and Maitland groups decided to continue through December. Our bilingual program at the Renaissance Senior Center will start again in February.

Can you guess what song our Memories in the Making® artist, Ed, is thinking about?
