Orlando, FL – One Senior Place Greater Orlando will be hosting its second annual Every Day is Veterans Day event on Friday, August 14 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at its offices in Altamonte Springs. This special tribute celebration, which was created to honor and remember the service and sacrifice of our veterans, is FREE and open to the public.

Colonel Rob SpringerCo-sponsored by VITAS Healthcare, Every Day is Veterans Day will feature a keynote address by retired space shuttle astronaut, Col. Robert C. Springer. Col. Springer will share photos and highlights from his career in a presentation titled, “Dare Mighty Things.” Col. Springer is a veteran of both NASA and the U.S. Marine Corps. He served two tours in Vietnam and was a test pilot for more than 20 different aircraft, as well as a mission specialist on the space shuttles Discovery and Atlantis. Col. Springer heads Springer Consulting, which specializes in aerospace consultation and motivational speaking. A tireless education advocate, he is chairman of the board of directors for the Kennedy Space Center Education Foundation and a trustee for the Astronaut Memorial Foundation.
