In order to honor veterans simply because they deserve it, One Senior Place Greater Orlando will be hosting its second annual Every Day is Veterans Day event on Friday, August 14 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at our offices in Altamonte Springs. This special celebration is FREE and open to the public. Numerous veterans and military organizations will be represented at the event, which will also include a color guard, music, refreshments, door prizes and important information for veterans.

Retired space shuttle astronaut Col. Robert C. Springer will deliver the keynote address at the event, which is co-sponsored by VITAS Healthcare. Col. Springer will share photos and highlights from his career in a presentation titled “Dare Mighty Things.” Col. Springer is a veteran of both NASA and the U.S. Marine Corps and served two tours in Vietnam. He was also a test pilot for more than 20 different aircraft and a mission specialist on the space shuttles Discovery and Atlantis.

“Having Col. Springer here giving the keynote address is quite an honor, and attendees should prepare to be impressed,” says Don Kramer, One Senior Place Founder and CEO. “We are all looking forward to honoring the service of all the veterans in attendance and are happy to share that with the Central Florida community.”

While an RSVP is not required, attendees are encouraged to call 407-949-6733 so that organizers can fully accommodate the expected large turnout.
