One Senior Place Brevard is proud to participate in this year’s Scarecrow Stroll, which takes place October 1 through 11. Audrey Chow-Jones and Renee Rader of the One Senior Place team have helped to create a scarecrow named Poke Peter, after Renee’s own grandfather, Pete DiMaria. Community members can come to One Senior Place to view Poker Pete as well as several other scarecrows created by various area businesses.

Scarecrows will be on display during business hours at various Viera and Suntree businesses, including One Senior Place. On Saturday, October 13, scarecrows will be moved to the Harvest Festival at Harvest Field behind the Church at Viera, just west of Viera hospital. All scarecrows will be auctioned off to help the nonprofit Rolling Readers strengthen reading skills of at-risk students.
