Musical Message: ‘Sing We Now of Christmas’

James Boyles and the 60-member mixed voices of the Brevard Chorale will prepare a holiday treat for music lovers when they present, Sing We Now of Christmas, a holiday concert. On Saturday, December 7 at 7:30 PM, the group will take to the main stage of the Simpkins Fine Arts Auditorium at Eastern Florida State College 1519 Clearlake Road in Cocoa.

The auditioned singers will perform to piano accompaniment during the 60-minute concert, which spans the centuries with classical, traditional and modern holiday favorites.  In addition to the concert’s namesake piece, the audience can expect to hear such works as the sensitive “Cantique de Jean Racine” by Fauré, a Norman Luboff arrangement of traditional carols and the modern Christmas classic, “Mary, Did You Know?” Flutes will join the Chorale’s performance of J.S. Bach’s “Sheep May Safely Graze,” while Jean Black and Linda Cox will impress with the piano duet, “Hark the Herald Angels Sing“ by Felix Mendelssohn.
