The next generation of exceptionally talented performers can be heard during Music on the River, the Cocoa Beach concert series featuring rising musical stars. At 3:30 PM on Sunday, September 29, the public is invited to an afternoon of free music at First United Methodist Church of Cocoa Beach, at 3300 N. Atlantic Avenue (A1A) in Cocoa Beach.  The program will feature five young musicians, including 18-year-old Eunie Bae of Eau Gallie High School on flute, 15-year-old Douglas Dyer from Rockledge High School on violin, 17-year old Cole George of Satellite High School on bassoon, and both 14-year-old Sofia Bordner from Viera High School and Ian Gadapee, an Astronaut High School senior, in a vocal performance. The program will feature music from various musical periods by composers Poulenc, John Williams, Saint Saen and Bourdeau. The audience can also expect to hear Broadway show tunes from Camelot, Beauty and the Beast and Mary Poppins. The concert is free, with a suggested donation of $10. Music on the River concerts are courtesy of a partnership between the Creative Arts Foundation of Brevard, First United Methodist Church of Cocoa Beach and the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra.  Each Music on the River performance is entirely produced by the aspiring youngsters. The non-profit Creative Arts Foundation of Brevard is dedicated to supporting exceptionally talented young performers through grants, tuition assistance and performance opportunities.  For more information on Music on the River or tuition assistance for exceptionally talented young performers, visit www.CAFOB.org or call 321-604-0103.

Aaron Collins is the president of the Creative Arts Foundation of Brevard and also the conductor and artistic director of the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra.

“This concert will feature another group of exceptionally talented young people from here in Brevard County,” said Collins. “Our goal is to help these passionate young artists achieve their dreams by providing performance opportunities, along with annual grants and tuition assistance.”

The Creative Arts Foundation of Brevard partners with the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra and the First United Methodist Church of Cocoa Beach to present Music on the River, a free concert series that showcases talented and accomplished young musicians. Music on the River concerts run from August through March.
