It was a dark and stormy night. A wolf howled as the heavy door creaked open slowly…”  Add spooky music to that scene and goosebumps are sure to ensue!  Get in the “spirit” ahead of Halloween, when the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra presents a family-friendly concert of Chills & Thrills at 7:00 PM on Saturday, October 19 at Satellite High School Performing Arts Center, 300 Scorpion Court in Satellite Beach.

Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain, Gounod’s “Funeral March of a Marionette” and Saint-Saens Danse Macabre will send chills up the spine of listeners, with musical thrills from familiar film scores including, Jaws, Beetlejuice, Mars Attacks! and more.  Space Coast Symphony Artistic Director and Conductor, Aaron Collins debuts an exciting new work, Dracula Reimagined. The work is based on his award-winning 1999 composition, The Dracula Suite.  Adding to the concert fun is the hilarious whodunit for the whole family, The Composer Is Dead.  With music by Nathaniel Stookey and text by Lemony Snicket, no one leaves the Concert Hall until this mystery is solved! The very entertaining Central Florida actor, Eric Pinder will narrate.  Adults and children are invited to attend Chills & Thrills in costume and join the costume parade! The concert will be conducted jointly by Aaron Collins and the SCSO Principal Guest Conductor, Michael Hall.

Chills & Thrills is free for kids up to 18 and for college students with a student ID.  $25 advance tickets for adults are available through the orchestra website at www.SpaceCoastSymphony.org or at the orchestra’s official Brevard ticket outlet, Marine Bank & Trust in Suntree. Tickets at the door are $30.  For more information, call toll free to 855-252-7276 or visit www.SpaceCoastSymphony.org.
