‘Blue Christmas’ Offers Peace & Consolation

‘It’s the most wonderful time of the year,” right? Every television commercial, movie and Christmas card tells us so– and calls for happiness, celebration and joy. But for a lot of people, the holidays’ over-the-top expectations make it the worst time of the year. The “holiday blues” can stem from a variety of sources, such as personal grief, illness, estrangement from family and relationship issues, like separation or divorce. For those whose spirits are low, Suntree United Methodist Church will hold a special Blue Christmas service on Wednesday, December 11 at 6:00 PM at 7400 N. Wickham Road in Melbourne. The third such annual service at Suntree United Methodist Church will feature quiet, reflective music, comforting scripture readings and the lighting of candles for loved ones.
