One Senior Place hosts industry experts April 14   

(VIERA, FL)  March 27, 2023 – One Senior Place in Viera will host The Benefits of Medical Marijuana on Friday, April 14 at 10 AM, as part of the monthly series, Senior Health Friday with Nurse Lisa. Lisa Conway (aka Nurse Lisa) will welcome Aliza Gammon, Education Director for Brevard Green MD, along with Cassidy Welch, Trulieve Lead Community Educator, to discuss The Benefits of Medical Marijuana at the Viera marketplace for senior resources at 8085 Spyglass Hill Road. The free educational seminar will address the use of medical cannabis in the treatment of senior health issues and will include a wide-ranging Q&A with the audience. In 2016, Florida voters approved the Florida Medical Marijuana Legalization Initiative. Shortly after, the state Department of Health established the Office of Medical Marijuana to regulate its prescribing and dispensing. Cannabis has been used medicinally since ancient times. Medical marijuana is authorized for patients diagnosed with ALS, Cancer, Crohn’s Disease, Epilepsy, Glaucoma, HIV/AIDS, MS, Parkinson’s, PTSD, Chronic Nonmalignant Pain and terminal conditions.
