Each December, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Foundation joins with community care providers and local business partners to host a “Christmas Village” to help provide a brighter holiday for children in foster care, as well as those who have faced abuse or neglect. Volunteers hold toy drives and raise funds to obtain thousands of toys, then set up a festive Christmas Village, complete with games, cookie decorating, crafts, and visits with Santa. While the children enjoy the activities, their parents and caregivers secretly shop for toys to help provide a bright Christmas morning. Families attending the event are by invitation only.

The SCSO is excited to announce that we are partnering with Seminole County Government and the Seminole County Fire Department to ensure this year’s event is a huge success and every child who participates has a happy and joyful holiday season.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

DONATE TOYS!

CVDonate toys individually, or as a family, or encourage your company, church or civic group to put out boxes and have a toy drive. We are in need of several thousand new, unwrapped toys to reach our goal!

The children served range in age from infant up to 18, and we especially need items for teens (accessories, watches, electronics, bicycles, etc.). Please deliver toys by Friday, December 15th at any of our Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, library or fire station locations listed here. **ONE SENIOR PLACE WILL ALSO BE COLLECTING TOYS THROUGH DECEMBER 15.**

VOLUNTEER!

Volunteers are needed to assist with setting up the Christmas Village on Friday, December 15th. This involves decorating dozens of trees and the Santa photo area – it’s a task any holiday decorator would love! Volunteers are also needed for the day of the event on December 16th. Some of the tasks include assisting with serving food to volunteers, helping with registration, supervising the children’s activities, and gift wrapping. Volunteer alone, bring your family, or get your company or group involved! Volunteers must be at least 16-years-old and a background check is required.
