Aid & Attendance

The Aid and Attendance (A&A) Pension provides benefits for veterans and surviving spouses who require the regular attendance of another person to assist in eating, bathing, dressing and undressing or toileting. It also includes individuals who are blind or a patient in a nursing home because of mental or physical incapacity. Assisted care in an assisting living facility also qualifies.

The Veterans’ Services Office has trained service officers who are certified by the Florida Department of Veterans Affairs to assist veterans, dependents, survivors, and others. The service officers and staff members strive to educate the public about veterans’ benefits and serve as the veterans’ advocate when filing a valid claim with the US Department of Veteran Affairs (VA).
