Stay Independent at HomeFor many of us, living independently in our own home as we age would be our first option, but planning ahead can be difficult because we never know how our needs may change over time.

In order to help plan for all possible scenarios, One Senior Place University is presenting How to Stay Independent in Your Home on Wednesday, March 16 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Join Emily Stowers, MSW, One Senior Place Aging Service Manager, for this FREE educational workshop and learn what you need to know to plan for the care you may require in order to continue to live in your home comfortably and safely.

From making your bathroom safer, moving your living space down to the ground floor, changing your light switches to make them easier to operate, redoing your kitchen to simplify preparing meals, and accommodating for a wheelchair, you can learn how to make some basic changes to your home that will make it easier for you to stay there as you age.

“By making the proper adjustments, you can continue to live at home independently as you get older,” says Stowers. “The key is planning in advance and knowing what changes need to be made in order to make it feasible, and this workshop is designed specifically to help you with that.”

Join us at One Senior Place Greater Orlando on Wednesday, March 16, and gain the knowledge necessary to make aging independently in your own home a reality.
