In the past, One Senior Place has hosted a caregiver event specific to memory loss issues - this year we are broadening our topic to include all caregivers. You know the people that give to everyone else, and also need to take care of themselves.

12:00 Noon - Welcome! Brevard is renowned for its wonderful memory resources and service providers. Meet them at our event!!
12:30 pm Cognitive Disorders: Signs and Symptoms. Kenneth Henschel, M.D., a neurologist specializing in cognitive disorders and neuromuscular disease, will discuss clinical symptoms of dementia and Alzheimer's Disease, explaining what happens to the body and mind with disease onset and progression.
1:30 pm Music to Live By: The Effects of Music Therapy on Dementia & Alzheimer's. Join Amy Robertson, Music Therapy Supervisor and Clinical Training Director for Florida Hospital, Orlando, for an interactive and engaging session! Learn about music therapy and how caregivers can use music to create a special bond with their loved one.
2:45 pm An Overview of Dementia and Alzheim'ers Disases. Join Geriatric Psychiatrist Kelly Dunn, M.D. for helpful - and sometimes surprising - insight into dementia and Alzheimer's disease.
3:30 pm Shooting Gallery. Join our panel of experts who will answer your questions and help you sort out options.
