Our expert panel has been carefully selected to introduce you to the many resources available in Brevard related to memory loss and dementia care.  Each presenter will provide a brief overview of their area of expertise and then the audience will be encouraged to interact with a Question & Answer period. 

Panelists - 

Richard Unger, M.D. - as a neurologist, Dr. Unger will present information on the importance of proper diagnosis and available treatments.

Brevard Alzheimer's Foundation - learn more about Adult Day Care - what it is, where you can find it, and the many benefits to the patient and caregiver.

Leeza's Place- find out about the many caregiver support services available.

Brevard County TRIAD -  learn what Project Lifesaver is and how their wander alert device can improve the safety for some patients. 

Rochelle Newman, Executive Director of Alterra Clare Bridge of West Melbourne assisted living will provide information on dementia-specific living options.

Kimberly Turner with Senior Mortages will help us be financially prepared when caring for a loved one with a chronic progressive disease.

Alec K. Prentice with William A. Johnson, P.A., Elder Law Attorney - will review the important legal aspects of caring for someone with dementia.

Cathy Rowlands, Elder Care Manager with Total Long Term Care Consultant Services will provide helpful insight to the overall care and some of the pitfalls of caring for a family member.

Kathy Laporte, General Manager of VITAS Innovative Hospice Care will discuss hospice and end of life care.
