This course is appropriate for the family caregiver and professional caregiver and meets the requirement for Assisted Living Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Level I Training and/or the required update. 

Cost is $10 per person to cover the cost of materials.

Curriculum is approved by the Department of Elder Affairs and the Florida Association of Homes and Services for the Aging.  Instructor Virginia Wood - approved vendor with DOEA.  Attendees will receive a Certificate of Completion.

Curriculum includes:

- Understanding Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders

- Characteristics of Alzheimer's disease

- Communicating with people with Alzheimer's

- Family Issues  - Basic techniques for coping with Alzheimer's
