‘Now Hear This!’ Seminar focuses on hearing loss in seniors

Hearing Instrument Specialist Sandra Wagner tests Elaine Sams (web)(VIERA, FL)  February 26, 2017 –  Senior Partner In-Home Care at One Senior Place continues its Safe at Home seminar series with a discussion of how healthy hearing can help seniors age successfully at home. Now Hear This! will be presented from 2:00 to 3:00 PM on Monday, March 13 at the 8085 Spyglass Hill Road marketplace for senior resources.  For older seniors residing at home, the ability to hear a smoke detector, an urgent knock at the door or a spouse’s call for help can mean the difference between a safe or compromised environment.  Facilitated by Hearing Instrument Specialist, Sandra Wagner of Personal Hearing Solutions, Now Hear This! will explain why hearing tests should be included with routine medical exams.  Wagner will also reveal the hidden dangers of personal hearing loss, such as increased falls and a greater risk of dementia.  Attendees are encouraged to call (321) 751-6771 and RSVP to Now Hear This! to reserve seating.  The Safe at Home series is designed to provide information and resources that will help seniors 70 and above successfully remain at home.  A new topic will be explored the second Monday of each month at 2:00 PM.  For more information about Senior Partner In-Home Care at One Senior Place, visit their website at www.SeniorPartnerCare.com or call (321) 751-6771.

Senior Partner In-Home Care Director of Partnership Development, Alexandra Larson explains why healthy hearing means healthier aging.

SPC_LOGO2013-F“A person’s hearing loss can pose a genuine risk not only to the individual, but also to their family and friends,” said Larson. “People deny their hearing loss for all kinds of reasons and sometimes are not even aware of it.  Yet the ability to hear dangers and combat isolation is essential to remaining safe at home.”

Now Hear This! is just one of the dozens of events presented annually at One Senior Place in Viera.  One Senior Place is a marketplace for resources and provider of information, advice, care and on-site services for seniors and their families.  To learn more about One Senior Place, The Experts in Aging, visit www.OneSeniorPlace.com or call 321-751-6771.
