purple2Simply by having a brain, every person in your community is at risk for developing Alzheimer’s, a fatal disease that cannot be prevented, treated or even slowed. Worldwide, there are an estimated 47 million people living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias, and without a change, these numbers are expected to grow to 76 million by 2030.

To bring this epidemic closer to home, we have more than 5 million Americans and over 500,000 Floridians currently living every day with Alzheimer’s. That’s why it’s important to take action now to help end this healthcare crisis!

June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month. The Alzheimer’s Association® would like to ask for your support in raising awareness of Alzheimer’s, the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States. Since the color of the Alzheimer’s movement is purple, the Alzheimer’s Association asks you to light buildings, common areas or signs purple, host a purple party for your employees, and/or turn your social media channels purple.

purpleWe even turned the State Capitol purple two years in a row!

We appreciate your consideration and any assistance you may be able to provide as we go “Purple with a Purpose” during the month of June.  Please share your efforts and take tons of Pictures!! We would like to show them off for you!

If you decide you would like to celebrate with us, send any of your purple pictures to Michelle Branham at mbranham@ alz.org.

Have Fun, Be Creative it is good for your Brain!!
